Definitions
- Institute: the institute, class or tutor that subscribes to HeyDocket.
- Staff: people the institute allows to use the institute portal.
- Students: people the institute gives access to its courses through the student app.
- Content: videos, PDFs, documents, live classes and other material the institute publishes on HeyDocket.
Accounts and access
The institute is responsible for its staff and student lists, for keeping account details accurate, and for everything done under its accounts. Each student account is for one person. HeyDocket allows one active login per student and may block sign-ins from other devices, emulators or modified apps.
Your content
The institute keeps all rights to its content. The institute gives us permission to host, store, process, watermark and deliver its content to the students it authorises, only so that we can provide the service. The institute confirms it has the rights needed to publish its content and to share it with its students.
Content protection
HeyDocket uses technical measures to protect content, including one login per student, blocking screenshots and screen recording in the app, blocking emulators and unauthorised downloads, and watermarking videos with the viewer's username. These measures make unauthorised sharing much harder and traceable, but no system can prevent every form of copying, such as filming a screen with another device. We do not guarantee that content can never be copied.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- try to get around, disable or interfere with HeyDocket's protections, including watermarks and login limits;
- share your login, or use someone else's;
- record, download, copy or redistribute content you are not allowed to;
- reverse engineer, scrape or attack the service;
- publish unlawful, infringing or harmful content.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Students and fees between institutes and students
Students use HeyDocket under these terms and their institute's own rules. Fees, refunds and course arrangements between an institute and its students are between them. HeyDocket is not a party to those arrangements.
Plans and fees
Plans are priced by the number of students an institute teaches. Fees, billing periods and payment terms are set out in the quote or order the institute accepts. If fees are overdue, we may suspend access after giving notice. We'll give reasonable notice before changing fees for an existing plan.
Third-party services
Some features rely on other services, such as Zoom for live classes and Google Calendar for booking demos. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms. We aren't responsible for third-party services we don't control.
Availability and changes
We work to keep HeyDocket available and reliable, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance and improve or change features. Any service-level commitments apply only if agreed in writing.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. The institute is responsible for having a lawful basis, and any consents needed, for the student information it adds to HeyDocket.
Ending the service
The institute may stop using HeyDocket as set out in its plan. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken. When an account ends, the institute can ask for an export of its data within 30 days, after which we may delete it.
Disclaimers
Except as stated in these terms or agreed in writing, HeyDocket is provided “as is”, and we disclaim warranties to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost revenue, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the institute paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
The institute will cover our reasonable losses arising from claims that its content, or its use of HeyDocket, infringes someone else's rights or breaks the law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell institutes about significant changes before they take effect. Continuing to use HeyDocket after that means you accept the updated terms.
